ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson men's and women's tennis teams are set to open South Atlantic Conference play against Catawba on Saturday. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at the AU Tennis Complex.

SERIES HISTORY
-Since Anderson joined the SAC, both the men's and women's teams hold perfect 6-0 records over Catawba in the regular season. Last year, the men's team earned a 6-3 win over Catawba, while the women's team claimed an 8-1 triumph in Salisbury.
ANDERSON TROJANS OVERVIEW - MEN
-Anderson won its 2017 season opener before falling to No. 6 Columbus State, 9-0, on Saturday.
-During singles action against USC Sumter, senior Juan Carracedo, junior Ramiro Urreta, freshman Jeffrey Dayton, Preston Morpeth and Jerry Price all won their match in two sets.
-During double action against USC Sumter, doubles partners Nicolas Ascarrunz and Dayton won 8-1 in the No. 1 slot while Carracedo and Price put away their opponents, 8-1, at the No. 2 position.
-The Trojans were picked 5th in the SAC preseason poll.
CATAWBA INDIANS OVERVIEW – MEN
-Catawba was picked to finish 9th in the SAC preseason poll.
-The Indians won their opening 2017 match against Emmanuel, 7-2.
-Catawba is coached by 12th year head coach Jeff Childress.
ANDERSON TROJANS OVERVIEW – WOMEN
-Anderson lost its 2017 season opener to No. 8 Columbus State, 8-1, on Saturday.
-Despite the loss, the Black and Gold played well taking the Cougars deep into several sets in doubles and singles actions. Trojans tandem Delaney Wiggins and Jacqueline Olivia defeated their opponent, 8-5.
-The Black and Gold are coached by 9th year head coach Joey Eskridge.
-The Trojans were picked to finish 5th in the SAC preseason poll.
CATAWBA INDIANS OVERVIEW – WOMEN
-Indians were picked to finish 10th in the SAC preseason poll.
-Catawba won its 2017 season opener, 6-3, against Emmanuel.
