Late Goal Lifts Tusculum over Trojans; 1-0

Greeneville, Tenn. – Anderson University women's soccer relinquished a goal in the 74th minute of action to fall, 1-0, at South Atlantic Conference opponent Tusculum on Sunday afternoon at Pioneer Field.

With the setback, the Trojans drop to 4-4 overall and 2-3 in conference action, while the Pioneers improve to 4-6 overall and 1-3 in SAC play.

After playing scoreless for 74 minutes, Tusculum's Kenzie Ellenburg headed a free kick to the far post after receiving a pass from Yvette Raaijen.

The Trojans continued to attack with several good looks. The best opportunity came with just 1 minute remaining, Anderson was awarded a free kick from 27 yards away. Junior Gabbie Fleming's kick sailed over the defenders, just nicking the top portion of the crossbar to deny the Black and Gold the equalizer.

The Trojans outshot the Pioneers 15 (3) – 8 (3), while claiming the corner kick edge, 6-1.
