ROCK HILL, S.C. – Anderson University women's soccer placed three on the SAC All-Conference teams, announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
Junior forward Lauren Allan landed on the second team, while sophomore teammates Melanie Maddox and Emilie Toftbjerg claimed spots on the Honorable Mention list.
Despite missing four matches due to injury, Allan led the Black and Gold in goals with five which three of those were game-winners. Allan has taken 18 shots on the season with 14 coming on goal. The Newcastle, Australia native, has also recorded one assist on the season.
Maddox has anchored the midfield all season long, making 15 starts while seeing action in 16 matches. The Midlothian, Va. native has totaled one goal and one assist on the year. Maddox was selected to the All-SAC Tournament team a season ago.
Toftbjerg has played a vital role on the backline again this season. The Aarup, Denmark native unfortunately missed five matches due to injury. The 2016 All-SAC Tournament selection's defensive presence was missed by the Trojans. During the five-match span, the Black and Gold allowed 8-of-16 goals while compiling a 1-4 record.
Anderson advanced to the SAC Championship semifinals and will face No. 2 Wingate on Friday. Kick-off is slated for 7 p.m. at Rock Hill's Manchester Meadows.
