Allan Scores Golden Goal, Trojans Defeat Lincoln Memorial; 1-0 (OT)

ANDERSON, S.C – Anderson University women's soccer scored a quick goal in the first overtime period to claim the 1-0 victory over South Atlantic Conference opponent Lincoln Memorial on Saturday afternoon at Trojan Stadium.

With the win, the Black and Gold improve to 5-8-1 overall and 4-5 in conference play while Lincoln Memorial falls to 7-8 overall and 2-7 in SAC action.

Anderson junior Lauren Allan scored the golden goal in the 92nd minute after dribbling past the Railspitters defenders and shooting it past LMU's Brooke Taylor. Allan's goal was her third of the season and the second game-winner.

The Trojans outshot LMU 17-8 and claimed the corner kick advantage, 4-1.

Anderson's junior keeper Abby Helm was credited with three saves on the afternoon. Helm has recorded 82 saves on the season (T-2nd in SAC) while posting a .845 save percentage (3rd in SAC).

The Trojans finish up regular season play on the road when they travel to SAC opponent Mars Hill on Saturday. Kick-off is slated for 1 p.m.
