Women’s Soccer Season Opener Ends In Draw; 0-0

Holly Springs, N.C. - Despite several scoring opportunities on both sides the Anderson women's soccer team settled for a 0-0 double overtime draw against the University of Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday afternoon to open up the 2017 season.

Anderson posts a 0-0-1 overall record while the University of Missouri-St. Louis holds an early season record of 1-0-1.

The Trojans and the Tritons each had seven shots on goal with none finding the back of the net in 110 minutes of action.

Junior Abby Helm recorded seven saves for Anderson while McKenzie Derouen and Maggie Harma combined for seven saves on the afternoon for the Tritons.

UMSL held a slight edge in shots, 9-8, while Anderson edged out the Tritons in corner kicks, 3-2.

Anderson will host Lynn University for their season home opener on Thursday. Kickoff from Trojan Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m.
