Hall Wraps up NCAA Women’s Golf Championships Tied for 72nd

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Anderson University freshman Victoria Hall, who was making the school's first-ever appearance in the NCAA Women's Golf Championships, carded a 14-over-par 87 on Thursday and finished the three-day, 54-hole event in a tie for 72nd place.

Palm Beach Atlantic hosted the championship at the par-73, 6,081-yard PGA National Resort.

Florida Tech, which jumped from 10th place following Tuesday's opening round into fourth place following Wednesday's round, overcame a 13-stroke deficit to finish first by four shots over Cal State San Marcos. Indianapolis slipped from the top spot into third place, with Barry and Southwest Oklahoma State sharing the fourth slot. Limestone moved up two spots and finished sixth, while Dallas Baptist finished seventh. Findley claimed eighth place, with Lynn slipping into the ninth spot.

Arkansas Tech, West Texas A&M, Oklahoma Christian, Northeastern State, Grand Valley State, Central Missouri and Missouri–St. Louis rounded out the 16-team field.

Just two of players were able to reach par or better during Thursday's final round, with Cal State San Marcos' Jaime Jacob (72-72-75=219) holding off Southwest Oklahoma State's Gloria Choi by one stroke to capture individual medalist honors. An additional trio of golfers finished within four strokes of Jacob.

Hall reached par on eight holes during the final round, but four double-bogeys, including three during her first nine holes of the day, proved costly and the Moore, S.C., native was unable to gain ground on the rest of the field.

The top eight teams will be placed into a quarterfinal bracket and seeded based on their 54-hole scores and will compete in Head-to-Head Medal Play, with winning teams advance to the semifinals and subsequently the finals on Saturday.
