Women’s Golf in 11th Place Following Opening Round of Low Country Invitational

BLUFFTON, S.C. – Led by freshman Kerrington Lamb's 9-over-par 80, the Anderson women's golf team is in 11th place following opening-round action Monday at the Low Country Invitational, at the 5,843 yard, par-71 at the Crescent Pointe Golf Club layout.

Western Michigan leads UNC Pembroke by one stroke, while Flagler is five strokes further back in third place. Lander is fifth, while host Wingate and Lenoir-Rhyne are tied for fifth. Newberry and Tusculum are deadlocked in seventh place, with Queens and Catawba tied for ninth.

Anderson, Wingate B and Chowan round out the 13-team field.

Flaglder's Miranda Greene and Lander's Hannah Stephenson are tied atop the individual leaderboard after each carded 2-over-par 73s on Monday. WMU's Jasmine Chee is alone in third, one shot further back, while five additional golfers are just two strokes off the pace.

Lamb is in a six-way tie for 22nd, while senior Tiffany Elam carded a 10-over-par 81 and is tied for 28th place. Junior Kate Hill notched an 83 and shares 37th place, while freshman Victoria Hall is tied for 40th place following an opening-round 84. Anna Freeman is tied for 46th after posting an 86.

The second and final round is slated to get underway Tuesday morning.
