Women’s Golf Tabbed 22nd in Latest Golfstat National Rankings

ANDERSON, S.C. – With the Anderson University women's golf team slated to tee it up for the first time this spring at next week's "Battle at Hilton Head Island," the Trojans find themselves ranked 22nd in the nation in Golfstat's latest Top-25 Team Rankings, as released on Tuesday.

The Trojans pace three teams from the South Atlantic Conference that appear in the poll, as Lenoir-Rhyne is at No. 24 and Wingate rounds out the rankings at No. 25.

Anderson made its first appearance in school history in Golfstat's Top-25 – at No. 16 – last October on the heels of a stellar fall campaign on the links. The Trojans won four tourney titles in the fall, while notching program-record scores in three consecutive tournaments.

The Trojans opened the season by posting a program-record, final-round 293 and winning the AU Invitational in September, then bettered that round with a 291 on the second day of the Patsy Rendleman Invitational. AU claimed the LeeAnn Noble Memorial, hosted by North Georgia in mid-October, by notching a school-record 287 in the final round. In addition, AU marked a tournament record for 18 holes, as well as a tourney record 584 for the 36-hole event.

The Battle at Hilton Head Island is slated to be held at Palmetto Dunes.
