Women’s Golf Tabbed 16th in Latest Golfstat National Rankings

ANDERSON, S.C. – On the heels of yet another record-setting performance, the Anderson University women's golf team is ranked 16th in Golfstat's latest national Top-25 Team Rankings, as released on Tuesday.

The No. 16 ranking marks the first appearance in Golfstat's Top-25 in school history and comes in the midst of a tremendously successful fall campaign for the Black and Gold. The Trojans are the highest-ranked team in the South Atlantic Conference – Carson-Newman is at No. 25 in the poll – after setting school records in back-to-back-to-back tournaments to open the season.

The Trojans opened the season by posting a program-record, final-round 293 and winning the AU Invitational in September, then bettered that round with a 291 on the second day of the Patsy Rendleman Invitational. AU claimed the LeeAnn Noble Memorial, hosted by North Georgia earlier this week, by notching a school-record 287 on Tuesday. The Black and Gold's effort marked a tournament-record for 18 holes, as well as a tourney record 584 for the 36-hole event.

AU is scheduled to wrap up its fall slate at the Illinois-Springfield Island Getaway, Oct. 29-30, at the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Resort in Puerto Rico.
