SALISBURY, N.C. – Paced by senior Tiffany Elam's 1-over-par 73, the Anderson women's golf team is in fourth place following opening-round action Monday at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational. The two-day tournament is being hosted by Catawba at the par-72, 5,973 yard Country Club of Salisbury layout.

Limestone leads the 18-team field by seven shots over both Lenoir-Rhyne and UNC Pembroke, which are tied for second place. The Trojans are seven strokes further back in fourth place, while Young Harris and Tusculum are sixth and seventh, respectively. Queens and Mount Olive share the eighth spot, with Coker in 10th place heading into Tuesday's second round.

Erskine and Lander are tied for 11th place, while Barton, the host Indians, North Greenville, Belmont Abbey, King and Pfeiffer round out the field.

Lenoir-Rhyne's Abbey Hartsell is atop the individual leaderboard after firing a 3-under-par 69 on the day, while teammate Megan Robb is just one shot off the pace following an opening-round 70. Five additional golfers sit just two shots behind Hartsell, with an additional quintet only three strokes off the lead.

Elam posted her lowest round of the fall season and is tied for 13th, while junior Kate Hill fired a 3-over-par 75 and sits in a five-way tie for 16th, alongside teammate Anna Freeman.

Freshman Victoria Hall carded a 4-over-par 76 and shares 21st place, with fellow freshman Kerington Lamb notching a 7-over 79 and sharing 46th place.

The second and final round is slated to get underway Tuesday morning.
