ANDERSON, S.C. – Following a two-week layoff after posting a stellar outing at the Barton Invitational, the Anderson women's golf team will travel north on Interstate 85 for the Converse Spring Invitational, which will be hosted by the Valkyries, Monday and Tuesday at the Carolina Country Club.
This will mark the Trojans fifth consecutive appearance at the 36-hole event and are coming off a sixth-place showing a year ago. AU won the tournament two seasons ago and finished fourth during the 2014 season. Kate Hill led the Trojans by sharing fifth place a year ago, while Tiffany Elam finished in a tie for 27th and Riley Lovorn shared 60th place.
The Trojans trimmed 14 strokes off their first-round score at the Barton Invitational two weeks ago and jumped from seventh place into a share of fourth place. Hill and freshman Anna Freeman paced the Trojans by tying for 10th place. Junior Samantha Ellison claimed a share of 26th place, while Lovorn finished in a tie for 36th. Elam rounded out the Trojan contingent in a tie for 46th.
