Mollenhauer Garners D2CCA All-America Women’s Basketball First Team Honors

ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University women's basketball junior Alexy Mollenhauer was named to the 2019 Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-America Women's Basketball First Team, as announced by the association on Monday.

The Lindale, Texas native led the Trojans to a perfect 20-0 conference record, 28-game winning streak, SAC regular season title, SAC tournament title and hosting rights for the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional. Mollenhauer earned SAC AstroTurf Player of the Week on six occasions, SAC Player of the Year, SAC First Team and Tournament MVP, Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division II Women's Basketball First Team and D2CCA Southeast Region Player of the Year. The junior forward guided Anderson to its first 30-win campaign since the 2004-05 season, producing 22 double-doubles (the second-best in the country) while pulling down 369 rebounds, fifth-highest in the nation.

Mollenhauer started in all 33 games and averaged 34.1 minutes, 19.9 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game to go along with 43 blocks and 39 steals.

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-America and All-Region Basketball Teams are sponsored by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA). The teams are voted on by the members of D2SIDA, NCAA Division II Sports Information Directors Association.

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
