GREENVILLE, S.C. – Between games of the South Atlantic Conference Pilot Flying J Tournament semifinal games on Saturday, the league office announced that schools throughout the SAC raised $14,500 for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund through their Play4Kay games throughout the season.
For the second time in seven years – and first time since 2013 - Anderson raised the highest amount among conference schools with a total of $6,305.00, which marks the largest amount raised in the 10 years of the SAC Play4Kay events. Anderson University will be recognized for their efforts at the 2019 SAC Basketball Tournament in Greenville, SC on Saturday March 9th.
Other SAC schools that raised impressive amounts for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund this year were:
Newberry - $1,500
Lincoln Memorial - $1,344 (Winners 2011, 2012, 2015, 2018)
Wingate - $1,000
Carson-Newman - $1,000
