Trojans Remain Top-Seed in Second NCAA Southeast Region Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS - In the second Southeast Region rankings released by the NCAA on Wednesday, Anderson University women's basketball remains in the top-spot, announced by the committee.

South Atlantic Conference rivals, Carson-Newman, was slotted No. 2 in the ranking while Carson-Newman moved into the No. 2 slot. Peach Belt Conference leader, North Georgia, took the No. 3 position sporting a 22-4 overall record with SAC member Wingate dropping to No. 5.

The remaining SAC team to make the poll was Tusculum in the seventh position. The highest ranked Conference Carolinas member, Barton moved up to the sixth position while the remaining SAC team to make the poll was Tusculum in the seventh position. PBC members Clayton State and Flagler are ranked eighth and ninth, respectively. Rounding out the top-10 is CC member Emmanuel with a 17-6 record.

The regional rankings are scheduled to be released weekly on Wednesdays through March 6, with the NCAA D-II Tournament selections scheduled to be unveiled on Sunday, March 10.

Eight teams from each of the eight regions will advance to the NCAA Division II tournament. In the Southeast Region, the tournament champions from the SAC, Peach Belt, and Conference Carolinas will receive an automatic bid, with five more at-large selections.
