20th Ranked Trojans Put Away Lincoln Memorial in Waning Seconds to win 18th Straight Game

HARROGATE, TENN. – Despite getting the Railsplitters best effort, the Anderson University women's basketball team was able to tough out the final 30 seconds to win the road game, 66-63, over South Atlantic Conference opponent Lincoln Memorial on Wednesday evening at Tex Turner Arena.

With the victory, the Trojans move to 20-2 overall and 14-0 in SAC play while the Railsplitters fall to 12-9 overall and 8-6 in conference action.

KEY STATS

  • The Trojans made one more shot from both the field (25 to 24) and behind the arc (5 to 4) than LMU.
  • Anderson was slightly edged on the boards by the Railsplitters, 41-38
  • The Black and Gold grabbed two offensive rebounds and was awarded a defensive team rebound in the final 30 seconds of the game

 NOTES

-Junior Alexy Mollenhauer led all scorers with a game-high 22 points and a  game-high nine rebounds. Mollenhauer shot 6-of-6 from the free throw line and was credited with five assists
-Senior Ace Easter netted 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting. Easter pulled down five rebounds while dishing out two assists
-Junior Cassie Ketchum drained her only two free throw attempts in the final seconds to help put LMU away
-Junior Madison Baggett ripped down seven rebounds recording one of her two offensive rebounds in the final 25 seconds of the game
-LMU placed three players in double digit scoring with Shaquille Rombley scoring 21 points and Khalil Johnson and Maggie Jachimczuk both chipping in 12 points each
-The Trojans have matched the 2014-15 team with their 18 game win streak. Tying the longest in Anderson history, since joining the SAC in 2010.
