ROCK HILL, S.C. – Anderson University women's basketball junior Alexy Mollenhauer was honored by The South Atlantic Conference as the AstroTurf Women's Player of the Week for games played during the week of Jan. 7 through Jan. 13, announced by the league office on Monday.
Mollenhauer opened the week up recording her ninth double-double (15 points and 15 rebounds) of the season and was just three assists shy of a triple-double in the South Atlantic Conference matchup at Carson-Newman. The Lindale, Texas native followed with her 10th double-double performance of the season (22 points and 15 rebounds) against SAC opponent Newberry.
The junior forward averaged a double-double for the week, 18.5 points and 15 rebounds. Mollenhauer shot 60% from the field, 55.6% from behind the arc and 88.9% from the free-throw line.
The Black and Gold return home to the Abney Athletic Center for a three-game homestand when they welcome SAC opponent Catawba on Saturday. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m.
