ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University softball (28-18, 12-12 SAC) finished its regular season play last Thursday and is now moving forward to the 2023 SAC Softball Championship as the eighth-seed.
The double elimination 2023 SAC Softball Championship will begin on April 27-29, with seeds 1, 4, 5, and 8 playing at the Wingate Softball Complex in Wingate, N.C., and seeds 2, 3, 6, and 7 heading to the Bears Field in Hickory, N.C. The two remaining teams after the opening round will meet for a best-of-three series at the highest remaining seed on May 3-4 to determine the 2023 SAC Softball Champion.
Anderson will face the SAC regular season champion, Wingate (40-11, 18-6 SAC), on Thursday at 3:30pm. During regular season play, the Trojans hosted the Bulldogs in mid-March earning a split. Anderson won game one, 5-0, while dropping the nightcap, 6-3.
