Four Trojans Earn Postseason South Atlantic Conference Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Four Anderson University softball players earned All-South Atlantic Conference honors prior to the start of the league tournament, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

Senior catcher Cailah Niles, junior Breanna Hagerty, sophomore Meghan Majeski and freshman Harlie Duncan garnered the accolades as the fifth-seeded Trojans prepare to face fourth-seeded Wingate in Thursday's opening round of the SAC Tournament.

Niles ranked first in the league in home runs (14) and second in RBI (53). During Niles senior campaign, she broke both the Anderson all-time career record and the SAC all-time career record with her season opener home run (48). The native of Phenix City, Ala. belted 14 round-trippers during the season pushing her career number and record to 61.

Hagerty batted .331 over the season with 10 home runs, five doubles and one triple. The strong-armed third baseman started all 46 games for the Trojans. Hagerty tallied 131 chances committing just seven errors at the hot-corner.

Majeski made starts in all 46 games posting a final batting average of .392. Majeski was second on the team in runs scored with 34 while ranking third in on base percentage. The speedster from Simpsonville, S.C. swiped a team-high 24 bases. Majeski ranks second all-time in career stolen bases at Anderson with 50 to her credit.

Duncan won 14 games which ranks tied for 6th in the SAC. The freshman from Tolono, Ill made appearances in 22 contests while making 18 starts. Duncan pitched a total of 116.1 innings on the season while being credited with 11 complete games.
