ROCK HILL, S.C.- Anderson University softball senior Rachael Barefield was named AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week for games played Mar. 20-Mar. 26, as announced by the conference office Tuesday.

Barefield batted 4-for-6 (.667) with two doubles, a homerun and five RBI in a doubleheader sweep at preseason favorite Carson-Newman. During the nightcap, Barefield went 3-for-3 with a double, a home run and three RBI.

The Opelika, Ala. native is batting .311 on the season with four doubles, three home runs and 18 RBI.

Anderson returns to the diamond today for a doubleheader matchup with SAC opponent Tusculum. First-pitch is slated for 2 p.m.
