Men’s Cross Country Remains Seventh in USTFCCCA Southeast Region Poll

NEW ORLEANS – Despite capturing a fourth-place finish in difficult conditions at last weekend's Queen City Invite, the Anderson University men's cross country team was unable to gain ground in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) DII Southeast Region Rankings, as released Tuesday afternoon.

The top seven slots in the 10-team poll remained unchanged from last week's rankings, as Queens, the two-time defending South Atlantic Conference Champions, held onto the No. 1 spot. Mount Olive, Augusta, UNC Pembroke, Wingate, Flagler and AU all remained steady as the No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, No. 5, No. 6 and No. 7 teams, respectively.

Catawba continued its upward climb and moved up one spot to eighth – two slots higher than two weeks ago, with Lenoir-Rhyne also moving up a spot into ninth place. Columbus State, which was unranked a week ago, now occupies the No. 10 spot.

Anderson is slated to get back in action, Friday, Oct. 11 at the Royals Cross Country Challenge.
