Men’s Cross Country Finishes Tied for 11th at the Rock Pre-National Meet

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Led by sophomore Ben Clark's 34th-place finish, the Anderson men's cross country team finished tied for 11th, alongside Davis & Elkins, at the Rock Pre-National meet, which was hosted by Slippery Rock, Saturday morning at the Bob O'Connor Golf Course at Schenley Park.

In a preview of the same course that will be used for the 2018 NCAA Division II National Championships, Dec. 1 Clark ran the 8K course in a time of 26:30, with freshman Logan Horning claiming 51st place in a time of 26:48. Sophomore Weston Hutto (26:57) and sophomore Noah McLain (27:31) finished 56th and 95th, respectively, with sophomore Joey Teachout claiming 114th place in a time of 28:01.

Sophomore Phillip Quillen crossed the finish line in a time of 28:02 and claimed 116th place, with Thomas Sutcliffe finishing 123rd in a time of 28:08.

Anderson will get back in action in two weeks, when the Trojans host the South Atlantic Conference Championships on Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Milliken Research Center in Spartanburg, S.C.
