NEW ORLEANS – In a week that saw more movement in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's (USTFCCCA) Southeast Region Rankings than at any point of the season so far, the Anderson University men's cross country team slipped to sixth in the most recent poll, which was released Tuesday afternoon.
The Peach Belt Conference continued to lead the way with five teams in the men's poll, with the South Atlantic Conference garnering four spots and Mount Olive representing Conference Carolinas.
Mount Olive, which was second a week ago, vaulted past Queens to claim the top spot in this week's poll, with the Royals slipping out of first place for the first time this season into second. Augusta, which was the lone team in the poll to occupy the same spot as last week, remained third.
After finishing second at last weekend's North Georgia Invitational, UNC Pembroke jumped from 10th place into the fourth spot, while Georgia College moved from ninth to fifth. The Trojans occupy the sixth slot, with Tusculum dropping two spots to seventh and Flagler slipping a pair of spots into eighth.
Wingate and Columbus State also fell two spots into ninth and 10th, respectively.
The Trojans are slated to get back on the course on Friday, Oct. 12, at the Royals Challenge in Charlotte, N.C.
