ROCK HILL, S.C. – Anderson University senior Abigail Bozarth has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, while freshman Logan Horning has earned AstroTurf SAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week honors, as announced by the league office Tuesday morning.
Bozarth won the Southern Wesleyan Warrior Invitational last Friday night, as the Simpsonville, S.C., native crossed the finish line 28 seconds in front of her nearest competitor. The women's squad opened its season in dominant fashion over the six-team field, with AU runners capturing the top five spots and seven of the top nine slots. Bozarth posted a time of 19:59.8 over the 5K course.
Horning claimed individual honors on the men's side at the Warrior Invitational in his collegiate debut. The Daytona Beach, Fla., native posted a time of 22:02.7 over the four-mile course, as Trojan runners captured three of the top four spots and six of the first eight finishes.
Anderson will get back on the course, Saturday Sept. 29, at the North Georgia Cross Country Invitational.
