Dotson Punches Ticket to NCAA Championship

BOONE, N.C. -- Anderson sophomore Elliot Dotson (Greenville, S.C.) competed in the men's mile event at the App State Open on Friday (April 26), placing fourth with a time of 4:01.76 (altitude conversion). This mark ranks No. 1 in NCAA Division II this season and No. 4 all-time in NCAA Division II history for the outdoor mile.

Dotson's race converts to 3:43.84 1500-meter--a score that leads the South Atlantic Conference, sits 9th across the NCAA this season and solidifies his spot in the event at the NCAA Championships at the end of May.

Both the mile and 1500-meter times are personal-bests for Anderson's 2023-24 Male Athlete of the Year and break the respective standing Anderson University records (both of which were already held by the sophomore.)

The Trojans travel to Lenoir-Rhyne next week (May 1-2) for the SAC Championship.
