ROCK HILL, S.C. – Anderson University men's tennis team has been picked to finish fourth in the South Atlantic Conference Coaches' Poll, released on Friday.
Wingate has been picked first with 10 first-place votes and 145 total points. Queens earned the No. 2 slot with three first-place votes and 143 points, while Tusculum placed third with 134 points. Anderson received one first-place vote ranking fourth in the poll with 122 points, followed by Lenoir-Rhyne with 112 points. Carson-Newman was slotted sixth with 90 points, while Lincoln Memorial was voted No. 7 with 85 points. Limestone came in at No. 8 with 78 points, followed by Coker at No. 9 with 65 points.
Catawba took the No. 10 spot with 59 points and at No. 11 was Newberry with 57 points. Mars Hill placed twelfth with 47 points, while UVA Wise rounded out the poll at No. 13 with 33 points.
Senior Adam Kush was selected to Honorable Mention – Singles playing in the No. 2 spot last season. As a junior Kush put together a 9-4 overall record and 7-4 conference slate to help the Trojans produce a 10-3 overall record.
At the No. 4 position, senior Aaron Cabo posted a 14-2 overall record and a 10-1 SAC record in singles action during last year's campaign. Cabo also posted a 7-7 overall record and 6-5 SAC record in doubles play.
Anderson opens up its 2022 season when it host nonconference opponent Columbus State on Feb. 2nd. First-Serve is slated for 2 pm.
