ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University men's and women's tennis team head coach Joey Eskridge has released the 2018-19 on Monday with expectations of competing for the South Atlantic Conference championship and NCAA play.
The men's team finished with a 12-9 overall record after completing a very competitive schedule. The Trojans also enjoyed a No. 28 National Ranking to end the season.
The women's team posted a 10-11 overall record highlighted by a No. 25 National Ranking in singles play by senior Laura Dean.
Eskridge is entering his 11th season at the helm and is just four wins shy of a combined 250 wins between the two programs.
With a combined 19 home matches between the two squads, both teams are scheduled to open fall play on the road in early September. The first home match for the women is scheduled for September 23 versus Columbia College while the men will remain on the road the entire fall. The first spring home event from both teams will be on February 1 when the Trojans host Southern Wesleyan. First serve is slated for 2 p.m. at the AU Tennis Complex.
The Black and Gold jump right into their challenging nonconference slate that features four Peach Belt Conference and region rivals Columbus State (2/3), Young Harris (2/13), USC Aiken (2/17) and Augusta (2/28) while hosting four SAC matches on each side this season, including SAC powerhouse Wingate (3/9).
