Trojans Win Fourth Straight; Defeat Lincoln Memorial 2-1

Greenville, S.C. – Despite giving up a late goal that tied the match, the Anderson University men's soccer team remained vigilant, scoring just one minute later to defeat South Atlantic Conference opponent Lincoln Memorial, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon at the Legacy Early Charter Stadium.

With the win, the Trojans improve to 7-4-1 overall and 3-3-1 in SAC action, while the Railsplitters drop to 4-6-3 overall and 3-3-1.

Junior Renato Oban recorded his first goal of the season after punching in a ball off the post to give the Trojans a 1-0 lead in the first half of play.

The Trojans continued to pepper the Lincoln Memorial's keeper to no avail, while LMU's Tom O'Brien finally found a slight opening to tap in a cross from Kasimir Lauber in the 82nd minute of the contest.

Anderson quickly responded with the game-winner in the 83rd minute of action, after senior Colin Burris's successful header from 10 yards out. Senior Jhon Vacca was credited with the assist off of the free kick.

Anderson outshot LMU 21(9) – 10(3) while giving up the corner kick advantage, 7-3.
