Trojans Earn Huge Road Win at No. 11 Lander; 3-1

Greenwood, S.C. – Anderson University men's soccer team handed the No. 11th ranked Lander Bearcats only its second loss of the season, defeating Peach Belt Conference powerhouse 3-1 on Wednesday evening at Van Taylor Stadium.

With the win, the Trojans improve to 6-4-1 overall, while the Bearcats drop to 6-2-2 overall.

The Trojans opened the scoring in just the fifth minute of action when Lucas Mostajo close range shot deflected off of a Bearcat defender to put the Black and Gold up 1-0.

Lander scored the first half equalizer in the 37th minute on Jonah Miller's first goal of the season.

After a well defended corner kick, junior Harry Ward served sophomore Shalev Keter a pass that Keter who put just under the crossbar to put the Trojans up, 2-1, just inside the 83rd minute of play.

Anderson sealed the match after Myles Duncan found Conley Waters to give the Trojans a 3-1 edge with just over a minute to play.

Lander outshot Anderson 19(10) – 5(5) and held the corner kick advantage, 11-3.
