Anderson and Carson-Newman Duel to a 1-1 Draw

Greenville, S.C. – Despite being outshot 27 – 9, the Anderson University men's soccer team played South Atlantic Conference foe Carson-Newman to a 1-1 draw on Saturday evening at the Legacy Early College Field

With the draw, the Trojans move to 3-3-1 overall and 0-2-1 in conference play, while the Eagles move to 5-1-1 overall and 2-0-1 in SAC play.

Carson-Newman's Tobias Solem Karlsen used a perfectly served ball by Harrison Collins, punching past AU's Gal Elyashiv to put the Eagles up, 1-0, in the 11th minute of play.

Anderson answered back in the 59th minute after Harry Ward took a well placed pass, drilling the ball past the Eagles keeper to even the match.

The Trojans and Eagles remained deadlocked for the remainder of the match and two overtime periods to set the final scored at 1-1.

Carson-Newman outshot Anderson 27(12) – 9(2), with Carson-Newman taking seven corner kicks to Anderson's three.
