Trojans Play to Double Overtime Draw Against Lenoir-Rhyne; 1-1

HICKORY, N.C. – Anderson University men's soccer played to a double overtime draw, 1-1, against South Atlantic Conference foe Lenoir-Rhyne on Saturday evening at Irwin Belk Track.

The Trojans post a 5-5-1 overall record and 2-3-1 SAC mark while the Bears hold a 5-2-3 overall record and a 2-2-2 record in conference play.

Lenoir-Rhyne opened up the scoring first in the 3rd minute of the match on a goal by Kevin Nadeau. The Black and Gold quickly struck back scoring a goal in the 6th minute. Sophomore Colin Burris used junior Cameron Emerson's pass to the top of the box and beat the keeper to the lower left side of the goal.

Despite being outshot 21-15, the Trojans were on target 9 times to the Bears four with Anderson holding an 8-5 advantage in corner kicks.

The Trojans backline and freshman keeper Gal Elyashiv continued their solid play with Elyashiv recording three saves on the night.

Anderson returns home to host SAC opponent Catawba on Saturday. Kick-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Trojan Stadium.
