Ross Leads Queens Past Anderson, 4-0

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Queens University of Charlotte put a strangle hold on first place in the CVAC with a 4-0 victory over Anderson College Saturday afternoon at Smethers Field. John Ross led the Royals, 10-4 overall and 8-1 in the CVAC with two goals in the first half in a four-minute span, the first at 26:06 and the second at 29:37. Both of Ross' goals were line drives from just outside the box. The Royals added two insurance goals in the second half. Shane Burroughs scored at the 51-minute mark off an assist from Demetrius Donald, and Matt Herbstritt scored at the 89-minute mark. Both teams had 10 shots. Queens goalkeeper Brian Luksis made six saves to earn the shutout.
