ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University's Colt Martin has been named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Team, as announced late Thursday afternoon.
The teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
Martin, a rising junior on the men's golf team, posted a 78.14 unadjusted scoring average this past season and notched three top-30 finishes, including an eighth-place finish last September at the AU Invitational. He recorded a pair of rounds below par during the year, including a season-best 69 in October.
The Google Cloud Academic All-District® teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada and the program separately recognizes outstanding student-athletes in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (when selected) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.
The Division II and III Google Cloud Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2018-19 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
