Men’s Golf Set for Southern Tide Intercollegiate

ANDERSON, S.C. – Following a three-week layoff, the Anderson men's golf team will get back in action at the Southern Tide Intercollegiate, which will be co-hosted by Coker and Limestone at the Green Valley Country Club in Greenville, S.C.

The 54-hole tournament is slated for two rounds on Monday, with the final round scheduled for Tuesday.

This will mark AU's third consecutive appearance at the two-day event, with the Trojans finishing 12th in last season's appearance at the Southern Tide, which was shortened to two rounds due to inclement weather. Jake Miller paced the Trojans a year ago after finishing in a share of 10th place. Cal Brock tied for 37th place, while classmate Colt Martin shared 45th place. Brady Cox placed 77th a year ago.

Miller leads the squad with a 72.83 stroke average this year and shares low-round honors with Brock and Grayson Bell, with each carding 67s on the season – during the King Invitational in late September and at the Donald Ross Intercollegiate in October. Bell and Brock each have a pair of top-10 finishes, while Miller and Martin have each finished in the top-10 on one occasion.

Brock is second on the team with a 74.67 stroke average, while Martin owns a 76.00 stroke average through five tournaments.

The Trojans opened their spring slate with a 15th-place finish three weeks ago at the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate in St. Augustine, Fla. Miller finished in a tie for 17th, while Brock shared 53rd place. Bell was one shot further back and finished in a deadlock for 60th place. Senior Hunter Parks and Martin finished in a tie for 74th and 77th, respectively.
