Parks and Martin Qualify for South Carolina Golf Association Amateur Championship

LEXINGTON, S.C. – Rising Anderson University senior Hunter Parks and rising sophomore Colt Martin each qualified for the 87th South Carolina Golf Association (SCGA) Amateur Championship, Wednesday at the 6,633 yard, par 72 Country Club of Lexington.

With 31 golfers shooting a score of 74 or better, Parks tied for ninth after firing a 2-under-par 70, while Martin carded a 2-over-par 74 and shared the 22nd spot.

With their impressive outings, the duo joins teammates Cal Brock, Jake Miller and Brady Cox as representatives from the Black and Gold who will be competing at the 72-hole SCGA Amateur Championship, which is scheduled for Aug. 2-5 at Dataw Island Club's Cotton Dike Course.

The field will include the top golfers in the Palmetto State who have either qualified for their position or earned an exemption based on previous accomplishments. The list of former champions including Lucas Glover, DJ Trahan, and Bill Haas.
