Men’s Golf Set to Wrap up Regular Season at Mustang Intercollegiate

ANDERSON, S.C. – Less than a week prior to the start of the South Atlantic Conference Championship, the Anderson men's golf team will close out the regular season at the two-day Mustang Intercollegiate, which will be hosted by Western New Mexico State at the par 72, 7,015 yard Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Ariz.

The Trojans are coming off a 16th-place finish at the Bearcat Classic, which was hosted by Lander at the Greenwood Country Club, with sophomore Jake Miller pacing the Trojans by finishing in a tie for 22nd. Grayson Bell shared 56th place, while sophomore Brady Cox claimed a tie for 73rd place. Freshman Colt Martin finished in a tie for 88th place and classmate Cal Brock rounded out the Trojan contingent in a tie for 97th.

Miller owns the squad's low round of the year after firing back-to-back, 2-under-par 70s last week in Greenwood and has a team-best 74.31 stroke average through seven tournaments this year. Bell has recorded a 76.45 stroke average through 11 events and finished in a tie for 10th at the AU Invitational last fall with a two-day 11-over-par 155. Senior Forrest Fowler has a 76.55 stroke average, while finishing tied for second at the AU Invitational.

Brock owns a 76.75 stroke average through 16 rounds and finished fifth at the AU Invitational, while claiming a tie for 19th two weeks ago at Wingate's Hargett Memorial Invitational. Martin has an eighth-place finish (AU Invitational) and a 29th-place finish (Hargett Memorial), while recording a 76.92 stroke average. Cox (77.50 stroke average) finished in a tie for 22nd at the King University Invitational and shared 24th place at the AU Invitational.

The Mustang Intercollegiate marks AU's first-ever visit to the Grand Canyon State.
