GREENWOOD, S.C. – Paced by sophomore Jake Miller's three-round, 3-over-par 219, the Anderson men's golf team finished in a tie for 16th at the Bearcat Classic, which was hosted by Lander at the 6,800 yard, par-72 Greenwood Country Club.

Young Harris won the three-round event by a comfortable 17-stroke margin over Lincoln Memorial, while Georgia Southwestern continued to climb through all three rounds and claimed third place. Belmont Abbey finished fourth, with Columbus State and Lenoir-Rhyne finishing fifth and sixth, respectively. The host Bearcats finished in seventh place, while Coker and Georgia College claimed eighth and ninth, respectively.

Clayton State finished 10th, with Barton in 11th place. Mount Olive wrapped up the tournament in the 12th slot, while Wingate and West Georgia shared 13th place. Erskine, King, Anderson, Flagler and North Georgia finished out the 19-team field.

Young Harris' Valter Andersson (209) won individual medalist honors by one stroke over Lincoln Memorial's Harry Boyle (210).

Miller vaulted from a share of 43rd place and finished in a tie for 22nd, with Grayson Bell sharing 56th place. Sophomore Brady Cox jumped up 20 spots and claimed a tie for 73rd place, while freshman Colt Martin finished in a tie for 88th place. Freshman Cal Brock rounded out the Trojan contingent in a tie for 97th place.

The Trojans will get back in action Monday and Tuesday at the Mustang Intercollegiate, which will be played at the Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Ariz.
