Brandon Young Honored By Conference

THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- Anderson University freshman guard Brandon Young earned honorable mention on the All-Conference Carolinas team, the league office announced Friday. Young, a 6-foot-2 native of Belmont, N.C., set the Anderson freshman scoring record his season with 459 points for an average of 16.4 points per game. He scored in double figures in 26 of 28 games and scored 20 or more points eight times. He scored 20 or more points per game during a five-game stretch from Jan. 24 to Feb. 2. He started that five-game run with a season-high 31 points against Pfeiffer. Young's 459 points is the most scored by an Anderson player since Robbie Seabrook set the school record of 526 points during the 2002-03 season. For the season, Young shot 42 percent from the field, 33 percent from behind the arc, and 75 percent from free-throw line. Young led Anderson in minutes played (880), field goals made (161), 3-point goals made (45), free throws made (92), and assists (65).
