Grier Leads Falcons Past Anderson

MISENHEIMER, N.C. -- DeMario Grier scored 19 points and had three steals to lead Pfeiffer to a 77-66 victory over Anderson University in a CVAC game Saturday night. Pfeiffer, 17-8 overall and 11-7 in the league, led 45-26 at the half after making six 3-point goals in the first 20 minutes. Anderson, 3-21 overall and 3-14 in the CVAC, shot 64 percent (16-25) in the second half to keep Pfeiffer from pulling away. Following Grier for Pfeiffer were Tavares Cooper with 16 points and Thomas Carr and Logan Call with 12 points apiece. J.R. Howell and Nathan Russell scored 15 points apiece for the Trojans, who finished the game at 49 percent from the field. Pfeiffer scored 29 points off 30 Anderson turnovers.
