Lesiak Joins Baseball Coaching Staff

ANDERSON, S.C. – Former Furman Baseball Director of Operations and Presbyterian standout Aaron Lesiak has been named an Assistant Coach with the Trojan baseball team, as announced by head coach Joe Miler.

"I am very excited for the opportunity that Coach Miller and Dr. Epting have given me here at Anderson University," ," said Lesiak. "I look forward to working with the young men on the baseball team and pursuing our program goals of winning championships."

In his role as the Paladins' Director of Operations last season, Lesiak instructed players on proper infield, outfield, pitching, and hitting mechanics, while assisting the coaching staff and players with everyday operations. He helped operate and maintain Furman's Latham Baseball Stadium and associated facilities during summer tournaments, as well as serving as a baseball camp operator and instructor and overseeing Furman baseball players' placement in summer leagues.

Lesiak also served as an assistant coach with the Lexington County Blowfish of the Coastal Plains League this past season, while helping manage the pitching staff in their pre-pitching routines, game-day duties and post-pitching exercises. He assisted with the development of the Blowfish outfielders and directed Blowfish Summer Camps.

Lesiak made 63 appearances on the mound with the Blue Hose, including a career-high 29 appearances during the 2016 season. He tossed 30 2/3 innings and compiled a 3-3 record with a 4.11 ERA that year, while allowing 14 runs on 25 hits and fanning 19 batters. The right-hander posted a streak of 12 consecutive appearances without surrendering a run and captured wins over Bowling Green, Winthrop and Campbell.

"Aaron is a great addition to the coaching staff," said Miller. "We're excited to have him on board and we are looking forward to his contributions to the team and to the university."

Lesiak earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Presbyterian in 2016 and earned a Master's degree in Sports Management from The Citadel in 2017.
