HICKORY, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne baseball team (8-16, 4-8) took both games of a doubleheader against Anderson (5-19, 1-11), 7-4 and 8-7, Saturday afternoon to complete the three-game South Atlantic Conference series sweep at Bears Field.

Game One - Lenoir-Rhyne 7, Anderson 4
L-R senior first baseman Colton Hansley hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the first inning while senior outfielder Logan Senelis-Jose drove in three runs for the Bears in the win.

With the score tied at two, Lenoir-Rhyne took the lead for good with three runs in the bottom of the third inning.

Senelis-Jose pushed the Bears' advantage to 7-3 with a two-run single in the eighth inning to round out the scoring for Lenoir-Rhyne.

L-R senior Clay Tresher (1-1) earned his first win of the season while senior Christian Hicks pitched the last four innings for his first save of the year.

For Anderson, Thomas Goodman fell to 1-2 with the loss while Josh Hickman and Steven Cooper each had two hits in the losing effort.

Game Two - Lenoir-Rhyne 8, Anderson 7
Hansley led off the bottom of the seventh inning with a walk-off home run to lead the Bears to the doubleheader sweep.

L-R senior Ivan Vieitez hit a grand slam in the bottom of the fourth inning as the Bears rallied from a four-run deficit to take the victory.

Nathan Galliford hit a two-run home run in the third inning to stake the Trojans to a 6-2 advantage before L-R began its rally.

Anderson tied the game at seven on a run-scoring ground out by Erick Sanderson in its half of the seven before Hansley ended the game with his heroics in the bottom of the frame.

Vieitez (2-0) was also credited with the victory after pitching the last two innings while Anderson's Landon Beck fell to 0-2 with the loss.

Sanderson and Galliford each drove in three runs for the Trojans despite the loss as well.

Lenoir-Rhyne remains at home on Tuesday when it hosts Pfeiffer at Bears Field beginning at 6 p.m. Anderson plays North Georgia in Dahlonega, Ga., on Wednesday beginning at 6 p.m.
