ROCK HILL, S.C. - Anderson University sophomore hurler Erick Sanderson has been named the South Atlantic Conference Pitcher of the Week, as announced by conference officials Monday afternoon.
Sanderson, a right-hander from Hanahan, S.C., scattered seven
hits over seven innings to help lead the Trojans to a 3-2 win in
the nightcap of a doubleheader sweep past league-leading Catawba
Saturday afternoon. The 6-foot-4 hurler improved to 4-3 on the
season with his team-high third complete game. Sanderson
surrendered just two runs and walked one batter, while fanning six
Indians' hitters and did not allow a runner to reach second base
until the final inning. Sanderson leads the team with his four wins
and 30 strikeouts on the season.
