Trojans fall at Limestone

GAFFNEY, S.C.- Limestone College used a seven-run fourth inning to gain an 8-4 victory over Anderson University Tuesday afternoon at Bob Prevatte Field. The Trojans fall to 3-3 after today's non-conference result. Trent Still (Williamston, S.C.) led Anderson going 3-4 at the plate with a homerun, 2 doubles, and an RBI. Thomas Padro (Hialeah, Fla.) knocked in 2 RBI and Blake May (Largo, Fla.) finished 1-1 with an RBI. Kyle Williamson (Columbia, S.C.) got the start and loss for the Trojans. Lydon gave Limestone the early 1-0 lead with a solo shot in the bottom of the first. Anderson answered quickly in its half of the second. Still tied the game at 1-1 with a solo homerun before Padro gave the Trojans a 3-1 lead on a two-run double. In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Saints broke out for 7 runs as they sent 11 men to the plate. The Saints took full advantage of three Anderson errors as Dailey contributed a two-run single, Mendez knocked in a run with a single, and Lydon cleared the bases with his second homerun of the afternoon. The Trojans attempted a rally in the top of the ninth when May knocked in a run to trim the lead to 8-4. The rally was quickly put down as Barnett retired the final two batters.
