Fleet Sweeps Anderson

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Erskine rallied from early deficits in both games to sweep a Conference Carolinas doubleheader from Anderson University Monday night at Anderson Memorial Stadium. In the first game, Greg Huff and John Bolding both were 3-for-3 to lead the Flying Fleet to a 7-4 victory. Anderson led 2-1, but Erskine took a 5-2 lead in the third then added two insurance runs in the seventh. Andrew Davis and Clint Neville both were 2-for-3 for Anderson and Ed Johnson hit a two-run homer for the Trojans. Iin the second game, Brian Fogle was 2-for-4 and drove in four runs to lead Erskine to a 9-7 victory. Anderson took a 3-0 lead in the first on a three-run homer by Blair Carson. But Erskine answered with three runs in third and five runs in the fourth. The big hits in the Fleet fourth were a three-run homer by Fogle and a two-run single by Matt Wurzer. Keith Hill was 3-for-5 and Chas Anthony was 2-for-3 with a home run to add to the Fleet attack. Alex Roberson was 3-for-4 with an RBI for Anderson. With the sweep, Erskine improves to 31-4 overall and 15-3 in the conference. Anderson drops to 12-30, 6-12.
