Late Homer Dooms Trojans

DUE WEST, S.C. -- Chas Anthony hit a three-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to give Erskine a 9-6 victory over Anderson University in a non-conference game Thursday afternoon. Anderson, 0-5 overall, took a 4-1 lead with a four-run second inning. Patrick West and Derek Hipp both had RBI singles in the inning for the Trojans. Trailing 5-1, Erskine (4-0) got a three-run homer from Brian Fogle in the sixth to cut the Anderson lead to 5-4. An RBI single by Fogle and an error in the seventh gave the Flying Fleet a 6-5 lead. Anderson scratched out a single run in the eighth to tie the game at 6. After singles by West and Hipp and a sacrifice, West scored the tying run on a sacrifice fly by Trent Still. Both teams finished the game with 11 hits apiece.
