Brevard Takes Third Game Of Weekend Series

BREVARD, N.C. -- A ninth-inning rally by Anderson died one run short as Brevard hung on for a 5-4 victory over the Trojans Sunday afternoon. Trailing 5-2 entering the top of the ninth, Anderson got a two-out, two-run single by Jessie Whiteside to cut the Brevard lead to 5-4. But a strikeout ended the game and gave the Tornadoes two of three against the Trojans in the weekend series. With the game tied at 2, Brevard used doubles by Seth Corliss, Buck Thomas, and Chris White to score three times in the sixth and take a 5-2 lead. Anderson had 11 hits, all singles, while Brevard managed eight hits. Whiteside led Anderson's offense with four hits in five trips and three RBI. Kyle Lewis and B.J. Smith had two hits apiece for Anderson. Anderson is off until Thursday when Limestone pays a visit for non-conference game. Anderson University Baseball Season Statistics
