Pfeiffer Takes Third Game Of Series

MISENHEIMER, N.C. -- Pfeiffer held off a ninth-inning rally to beat Anderson University 8-6 in a CVAC game Sunday afternoon. Trailing 8-3 entering the top of the ninth, the Trojans started a rally that put them in position to tie the game. A double by Clint Neville, a single by Josh Harrison, and a ground out cut the Falcon lead to 8-4. After a single by Tony Graham, B.J. Smith provided an RBI double and Kyle Lewis produced a run-scoring single to get the Trojans within two at 8-6. With runners on first and third, John Mac White came to the plate and hit a line drive that the Falcons turned into a game-ending double play. Pfeiffer scored four runs in the sixth to take a 5-1 lead. In the inning, Kyle Pugh and Ryan Harju both had run-scoring singles, and Shawn Coke had a two-run single. Anderson finished the game with 15 hits to Pfeiffer's 11. Harrison was 4-for-4 for Anderson. Anderson is now 9-15 overall and 4-5 in the CVAC. Anderson University Baseball Season Statistics
