CENTRAL, S.C. -- Six Anderson University pitchers scattered 10 hits and allowed just one run as the Trojans beat Southern Wesleyan 5-1 in a non-conference game Wednesday afternoon. The six pitchers -- Chris Pitts, Desmond Robson, Kevin Young, Will Cheatham, Brandon Sheriff, and Brandon Johnson -- combined for three strikeouts and no walks. Even though he allowed the only run, Young picked up the victory. Anderson jumped on top 3-0 in the fifth. Cody Nye hit a solo home run for the Trojans' first run. After Jessie Whiteside was hit by a pitch, Don Ballard doubled to put runners at second and third. A balk and a ground out brought home the final two runs of the inning. Anderson, 17-24 overall, scored single runs in the seventh and the ninth. Ballard hit a homer in the seventh.
