Trojans Rally To Top Rifles, 10-8

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Anderson College rallied from a 4-2 deficit in the first inning to beat USC Spartanburg 10-8 Wednesday afternoon at Harley Park. Anderson, 3-4 overall, got two hits apiece from Joe Whitham, Donavon Schmidt, and Kyle Lewis. Whitham's single in the first gave the Trojans a 2-0 lead. Jason Jones hit a three-run homer in the top of fifth to give Anderson a 6-5 lead. The Trojans never trailed again. Nat McCarty pitched two innings of relief to pick up the victory for the Trojans. The star of the game for USCS was Chris Novak, who hit for the cycle. Anderson plays host to Limestone in a non-conference game Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m. Box: Anderson 10, USCS 8 Season Statistics
